J.C. Penney Co Inc. will continue to warehouse baby supplies in stores near stores closed by Babies'R' Us, taking full benefit of the recent breakdown of parents' Toys 'R' Us. According to the retailer, the range of nurseries, pushchairs and baby chairs from brand names such as Fisher Price and Dr. Brown's will be extended to 500 stores from 30 August.
"We chose these 500 J.C. Penney sites because most of the stores are located near a baby store that recently close its doors," the firm said Thursday. Babys'R' Us was the target for families looking for crèches, dummies and changing bags before closing their businesses in June due to the insolvency of their mother-firm.
J.C. Penney could help the Fisher Price of Mattel Inc., which has suffered a slump in turnover since the breakdown of babies "R' Us".

USA: Baby Togs launches new B2B website | Apparel Industry News
baby Togs, the baby apparel producer and retailer, today unveiled an exciting B2B website for its new B.T. Kids line of high-end apparel. "This year we introduced our B.T. Kids line and have already drawn over 2000 high-end retail stores such as Macy's, Lord and Taylor, Dillard's and specialty stores," said Herb Missry, Baby Togs Sr. VP of Global Branding.
"The rapid growth of its appeal meant that providing a website where our trading partner could work with us around the clock was a crucial step. "Designed and built by MERANT, (NNM: MRNT; LSE: MRN), a leading provider of email e-business solution technology, www.BTKids. net is transforming the way Baby Togs does business with merchants.
B.T. Kids' retailer affiliates are offered a B.T. Kids store demonstration room with more than 600 matching apparel kits to search and buy directly on-line, removing the time-consuming sale visit procedure and traditional paper-intensive order facsimile workload. "It was also important to find a trustworthy affiliate to help us run our store on-line.
That' s when we turned to MERANT. MERANT' demonstrated success in creating cutting-edge, easy-to-use retailer websites and its expertise in embedding the web into backend solutions made it the first port of call to bring B.T. Kids to life. Our new B-to-B site will enable Baby Togs to expand its business and offer our premium product to a wider range of customers," Missry said.
Boutique Kids. net allows Baby Togs to take full advantage of B2B e-commerce. This site offers comprehensive features such as an expansive catalog of products with the option to place orders across sites and an administrative page where merchants can see and administer their own account information. MERANT Egility (TM) uses the website's Egility (TM) platform to enable integration with backend Legacy solutions so merchants can monitor the state of their orders from process to shipment.
Besides the B2B e-commerce site, MERANT has also created a supplementary B2C site for B.T. Kids. At the same address , the B2C site started in June 2000, , customers can look at the latest B.T. Kids models and find a dealer near them. B.T. Kids B.T. Kids is manufactured by Baby Togs, Inc., the producer and marketer of baby and children's clothing and toy apparel.
Togs Baby offers clothes for newborn babies, sucklings, toddlers and children up to the ages of seven.
