In our understanding, a seat on a wheel that has already successfully completed the ECE R44/04 (car seat) test is considered appropriate for use on a neonate - it does not have to lay even. There was a greater crack between the seat belt and the bottom of the child's back the older the baby was.
Most of the loopholes were with the oldest kids. All of us had problems putting on the adults safety belts to fasten the Doona in the car. Seat belts guiding clip on each side of the Doona are too low. The car's seatbelts even touched the youngest babies' feet, left behind traces of redness on them.
Curved elbows and curved feet means there was no room to put the safety harness for adults over their rounds and plug it into the sockets. One of the Doona' s main features, however, is probably for those who use taxis or get elevators in friends' car riages (no frame and built-in car seat), so an iso-fix basis would probably not be an optional one.
Last question came when the kids were between the belt level hole, i.e. too small for the lower level but too small for the higher level. The belt of these kids digged into their necks or shoulder, which led to more stains. Nearly immediately our 11-week-old baby was screaming when she was buckled into the Doona seat.
There was a bruise on her shoulders when she was taken off the seat. In between the baby's jaw and the side of the car seat was no room for the padded shoulders to fit well. Belt cushions are only kept in place with two snap fasteners made of synthetic material, which are opened again and again. We' re all tired of putting those belt cushions back on. We also noticed that the seat belt twisted very slightly - both on the back of the stroller and in the parts of the seat belt clasp.
There are many instances from a number of other Doona reviewer websites that help us with our results if you have any doubt about our results, e.g. the space between the strap and the cushions, the gliding and dropping of the cushions, slightly contorting belts and the misplacing of the seat belt.
We have since been advised by two car seat specialists. All our specialists were in agreement that the Doona raised issues about belt position. In order to prevent abuse of the stroller or car seat, the Doona grip only goes into certain position at certain points of the day. In this way it is prevented that the Doona grip is unexpectedly pulled out during carrying or that the Doona is unintentionally folded.
This means, for example, that the grip cannot be turned over when the stroller is in use. It is not possible to lengthen the grip in car seat modus. Importantly, the grip MUST be returned to a comfortable stance above the baby's legs in the car to provide bounce-resistance.
Doona' s apparent benefit is that the castors are fixed to the car seat and can be folded out effortlessly. Trust me, there is nothing that prevents us from pinching into a store, more than the thought of either dragging a car seat with a big babe into a store; or the thought of setting up a car frame, attaching car seat adapters, and then maneuvering the car seat on adapters several meters in the sky.
Use the Doona to take it out of the car, push the grip and the bikes fall down, done! Your car seat never hits the ground; and there is no pram frame to fill your trunk. It is easy to lower the wheel because the car seat is raised from a car.
It should not be necessary to turn or rotate as you need to do to place a baby seat on a pram undercarriage. In this case the grip can be pulled out for sliding. Then the Doona can be woven on the spur of the moment to be operational! The Doona is very good for that.
It was hard for us to take a child in a car seat from the car to a store or doctor's office. Doona' s fold-down castors would have been a stroke of luck instead of pushing the seat along our thighs every second. Farthest the Doona will ever have to lift is from the floor into the car with the wheel on.
Our results, however, were that the Doona was really too hard to hoist when a babe reached the 10 month mark. As a rule, this is before the moment when a infant can go, which means that at the point where one of the parents would profit most from not having a heavier infant, the Doona would not be appropriate.
In the Doona we tried to raise our 12 kg heavy baby. And we managed to lower the bikes, and she was raised into the car, still in the Doona. Kid would've run at this time. The Doona would have survived a pram frame as a travelling system, and although the Doona seems to be a cost saving in the long run, it may be necessary to buy another car seat and a frame to last until the end of the car seat's use.

Doona was happy to collapse at the entry to these places and then just take the seat inside. The Doona is not delivered with a cart that has been noticed by our tester. This is why Doona has created three different pockets for all these "things". A Doona is larger than many baby carriages. But we have serious doubt about the Doona' s security, especially that of the seatbelt.
All in all, however, we are of the opinion that the Doona is as costly as it is. All of us were thrilled to try the Doona. A number of infants and young children must take a critical look at the seat and seatbelt. It would be very much to our liking that a decent couch flatbed be used on a car seat that is also sold as "by birth".
